We are very excited to partner with Unicon Rochester and the Workforce Development Institute (WDI) in the development of this guide and hope you find this free resource of value.
It is no secret that there is an abundance of job opportunities within the skilled construction trades, in fact we have seen a recent shortage in qualified workers. Construction Apprenticeships are the Gold Standard in the “earn while you learn” model and our region has some of the premier training programs, apprenticeships, local schools and colleges that prepare students to join the construction industry with the skills they will need to succeed.
Within this Resource Guide you will find detailed information on the various specialties within the construction industry. This guide outlines the basic information on most crafts within the skilled trades, average wages for each, as well as current contact and apprenticeship application information. We have also included details for related professional fields such as Construction Management, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Architecture and Surveying. Additionally, you will find information on alternative programs, such as those for pre-apprenticeships, veterans or those that have gone through juvenile detention centers.
